Principal Component Analysis (PCA) of Mutated Genes in Squamous Cell Cancers (SCCs)

PCA was perfomed on the feature set of all genes that were mutated in all of the SCC patients. For each patient, the feature was assigned a 1 if the gene was mutated in his/her tumor and a 0 if it was not. Overall survival status (living or deceased at time of study) was mapped to each patient to determine how well PCA was able to tease out features relevant for predicting prognosis.
