Heirarchical Clustering of Squamous Cell Cancer (SCC) Studies in The Cancer Genome Atlas on Mutated Genes

hn = Head and Neck SCC
esoph = Esophageal SCC
skin = Cutaneous SCC
lung = Lung SCC
cervical = Cervical SCC

Heirarchical clustering (complete linkage) was perfomed on SCC studies in TCGA using the Euclidean distance between the mutated genes identified in each study. For each study, the gene feature was assigned a 1 if the gene was mutated found to be mutated in a patient in the study and a 0 if it was not. For the most part, SCC subtypes cluster together indicating common mutations within each subtype.
